"God, I regret to report, does not give a hoot about our religion."
-Annie Dillard
Brother Ron Fender talked to us about the story from Luke where the men are walking on the road to Emmaus and encounter Jesus. He explained that he sees Jesus in the poor and that any time we care for the poor, sick or hungry, we are caring for Christ.

Chris Robinson and Project 52
In Matthew, Jesus says, whatever you do for one of the least of these brothers, you do for me.
Today, we worked for "one of the least of these" in an area that is not the most desirable of places. We got hot, sweaty, and itchy, but we made a big difference in just a couple of hours. Describe what the experience was like for you.

Abba's House
"Our next baptism will be Sunday, July 1 at 10:30am. If you are ready to follow Jesus' example and be baptized, meet at 10:00 a.m. in the Broadbent Prayer Room that day. Bring an extra set of undergarments, and we'll provide towels, t-shirts, shorts or baptismal robes. If you have questions, look under the Spiritual Life section to learn more about baptism."
The quote above is taken from the Abba's House website.
What were some of your initial impressions of Abba's House? Did any of those impressions change as we spent more time with Mrs. Craig? What did you think about this church and how did it compare to the Church of the Firstborn? Try to go beyond the obvious.

Response to visit to Sewanee and St. Mary's
"A pilgrim is a wanderer with a purpose."
-Peace Pilgrim
Today we talked about what it means to be a pilgrim and then we went on our own pilgrimage to Sewanee. Describe what the journey (both literally and figuratively) meant to you. What was is like to be in that quiet beautiful place? We visited three chapels (All Saints, St. Augustine, and the St. Mary's chapel at the convent), we saw the Memorial Cross, and we walked the labyrinth. What was interesting or meaningful to you about those sacred spaces? What was your favorite part of our trip there?

Please share your thoughts about this experience. Did anything they say stand out in particular? Was this visit meaningful to you? If so, explain in 5-10 sentences what you gained from our time there.
